Who is Slinkachu?Slinkachu is a 35 year old British photographer and is famous for his 'little people project' which started in 2006 on the streets of London. Now his photographs sell for up to £6,500.
Slinkachu's project uses tiny figurines and makes scenarios out of them using everyday objects, for example, this picture on the left is the scenario of a business man staring at his damaged car, usually it would be a large rock or scratches but Slinkachu has used a lollipop to make the scene a lot more funnier and creative. |
I like this picture because it shows how small the Slinkachu figurine really is, everybody knows how small a bee is and nobody really is frightened of it because of its size but through the Slinkachu's figurines eyes, a bee looks like a monster and this piece of photography expresses the struggles of a mini figurine which is also very funny because we as humans see a bee as harmless but the mini people see them as terrifying and dangerous. The photographer has focused the figure at the center of the photo and has used a small depth of field to out focused the background this makes it more effective. the picture has also been taken from a worms eye view to make the bee look bigger than we imagine it to be. Slinkachu has also used the rule of thirds by placing the subject in the middle of the landscape photo.

The pictures of the workmen climbing on shells was my 1st shoot (of the 3rd). I like this because it looks like they are in a flood and the darker workman is about to help the other workman up the shell to stop him from drowning. I like this photo mainly because it is telling a short story and I like the reflection in the water. I have out focused the background so the viewer can only see the slinkachu, shell and water

5th Shoot |
The second shoot (of the 3rd shoot) is the autumn theme with leaves, here I used different white balances to create a more orange affect on the pictures and the slinkachu is standing on an orange half nut which fits in with the theme. I like this photo the most because the slinkachu looks like she is looking up at the sky and her coat matches the context. I also like the leaves on the ground and how she is standing on it. I have used a small Depth Of Field to blur the background and focus on the slinkachu and leaves. Also, I used the rule of thirds and worms eye view
